The 3rd Tomboi: GRO NYC

Tomboi: GRO NYC Fundraiser Series.  Third event and it just keeps getting better.

Produced by and for the girls of NYC GRO Crew, Tomboi was an evening packed full of fun in support of women’s skateboarding in New York.  GRO girls Brittany Campbell and Mia Monee along with Skate Brooklyn all came together to make it possible.  Perhaps part of the reason Skate Brooklyn is so supportive is that the owners’ daughter, not even 2 years old, is already a rider herself!

It all started off with girls only skate sessions on Skate Brooklyn’s mini ramp.  The skating was non-stop.  The girls took full advantage of the girls only time to hone their skills.  Then, they took those skills on to the open session.  In fact, there were girls skating the entire open session until we had to kick them out at 1am!

Art covered a full wall at Skate Brooklyn.  Danielle De Jesus displayed her amazing etch-o-sketch skills and Lizzi Reid, Elizabeth June and Brittany Campbell’s art spoke through paint and ink.

A big thanks to all of the musicians that kept the party rocking all night long.  DJ Jynn, Teen Girl Scientists Monthly, Sitcomlife Brown, Royal Khaoz, Redddaz and Brittany Campbell for volunteering your skills in love of girls skateboarding!
