gro Experience Tour is traveling coast to coast this summer with the largest national series focused on females in action sports. From the gro Am Skateboard Series to the gro Experience Festival, there is something for everyone. Back to the scene of Vegas Invasion, gro is visiting SkateCity for an indoor session in the hot Vegas summer. Come skate with us, skateboard, roller skates, or whatever is under your feet. There will be riding, filming, learning, laughing, and some music to top it all off. Viva Las Vegas!

The final stop of gro Experience is touching down in California at Garvanza Skatepark in Highland Park. The early afternoon to 4pm is an open skate and girls skateboard workshop. There will be filming, learning and extra equipment for girls to use to experience the various sports. At 4pm we clear the course for the ladies of gro Am. This is the final event of the gro Am Qualifiers and the last chance to step up the the next level of gro Am. Girls are traveling all over the country to come take part in the contest. Donations accepted for all workshops and events. Bring your friends and see you at the park!

gro Experience – An introduction to action sports and active arts for females of all ages. Over the course of the event, attendees will be shown a variety of activities through demos, workshops, question sessions, speakers and more. Inspire, educate, and support. Skateboarding, BMX, Roller Derby, Music, Art, Dance and more will be out in attendance providing females a true experience in each area. The education is free and open to the the public at the event.

About The gro Am

This is the first year of a national series for the girls am skate. There were a lot of unknowns going into this. Now that we are almost done, here is the rest of the information that we feel will provide the best showing for the talented girls around the country.

gro Am Qualifiers

There have been qualifiers along the gro Experience Tour and will be one more qualifier in California on July 16th, before the finals of the gro Am Road Series on that date. All winners of previous stops that travel out to California will go straight to the finals against the qualifier girls from the California qualifier. The top three girls will receive prizes and move on to the gro Am Video Finals.

gro Am Video Qualifiers

Due to rain in New York and the amount of girls unable to make it to a qualifier, gro is holding a second chance gro Am Video Contest to allow even more girls to get involved. Each girl that did not place top three in the finals, or could not make it to a qualifier at all will have a second chance to get into the finals that will showcase girls to Maloof Money Cup, Super Girl and the industry overall.

Each entering girl must make two videos. 1) One 60 second edited video that shows your skill. This is a street focused contest. Bowl or vert footage is great, but that is not what this contest is looking for. 2) One 60 second video that is unedited. This video is going to show you doing a 60 second run. This is to show your consistency in an event.

The two videos can be uploaded on YouTube or Vimeo and the links plus your name, age, contact info and hometown to courtney.gro@gmail.com before 12:00am PST on August 15th.

All the video entries will be reviewed and judged. Then the top seven video entries will go against the videos from the three gro Am Road Qualifiers and be posted online for a judging by special guests and online voting. These final 10 skaters will have videos showcased and the top girl will be considered for Maloof Money Cup this fall in Orange County. Flight and hotel will be provided for the winner to attend their first pro contest.

gro Ride Session – Are a fun, relaxed environment to give more girls across the country an opportunity to come out and ride with the gro Riders along the way. Come ride with skaters, BMX riders and derby girls of gro Experience for a session of fun. Who knows, you may even walk away with a few new skills. All Ages and Abilities are welcome to join. All you have to have is an interest in learning more! Grab your friends, your board or bike and get experienced with gro!
