It’s still completely skateable outside. pretty great. Although it’s rainy most of the time, so we skate Leeside, [Vancouver].
These photos from the girls at Bellows up in Canada got me thinking about winter, weather and skateboarding. Some places in this country are beautiful almost every single day of the year. For most of us however, we have seasons and seasons bring varying weather. Indiana right now is covered is snow, as is much of the country. Oregon has been known for its months of rain in the winter and every state has a story. If cold is not the problem, try the heat of Arizona or Nevada in the summer.
The differences in weather ultimately create differences in action sports in each region. Where you live can determine how often you get to ride. Unless you can build your own indoor spot, you may not ride for days or weeks. Difficulties, dedication and one of those gems that keeps a unique beauty to the different skate communities coast to coast. Just a thought. What are yours?
